Data You Give Us Directly
Search Queries
A name or place entered in a search box is sent directly to the outside provider that operates that feature. The provider processes the query and supplies its results. Freestone County Criminal History does not keep a separate log or stored copy of those search terms.
Messages and Contact Submissions
An email or other direct message may be retained for response and recordkeeping. Access is limited within our organization, except when disclosure is required by a valid legal obligation.
Data We Gather Automatically
Our systems receive routine technical information when a visitor loads a page, including:
- Page-view dates and times
- The referring website, when one is supplied
- Pages viewed and approximate time spent on them
- Device category and operating system
- Browser name and version
- The device's assigned IP address
Cookies and Analytics
Cookies are small files placed on a device. They and analytics services help produce combined traffic measures, such as popular pages and common exit points. Browser controls can block or remove cookies, although doing so may change how some features work.

No Criminal-Record Data on File
Freestone County Criminal History does not host, assemble, or sell a database of individual criminal records. It identifies official access routes through the Freestone County sheriff and courts, the Texas Department of Public Safety Crime Records Division, and the Texas Public Sex Offender Registry. Visitor data is not turned into a third-party criminal profile or consumer report. This site is not a consumer reporting agency under the Fair Credit Reporting Act.
Third-Party Search Partners
Independent companies supply the embedded search features. Information submitted through a partner tool is governed by that company's privacy terms, retention rules, and sharing practices. Those practices are outside our control, so review the provider's policy before sending a query.
Links to Other Websites
Links may lead to Freestone County offices, Texas agency portals, courts, legal resources, or independent search services. Once a visitor follows an external link, the destination's privacy policy controls. Review it before providing personal information.
Advertising providers may use their own systems to measure activity across websites and select interest-based ads. We do not operate that outside tracking.
Who Might See Your Data
We do not sell personal information. Data may be available only to:
- Advertising networks that serve material on the pages
- Analytics providers measuring traffic and performance
- Outside search providers that process a query you submit
- A court or government authority acting under a valid legal order
How We Protect Your Data
Reasonable security practices are used to protect collected data. No internet transmission or storage method is completely secure, however, and an absolute guarantee against unauthorized access cannot be made.
Users Under 18
The site is intended for adults and does not knowingly collect personal information from a person under 18. If such information is identified, a request may be made for its deletion.
Your Data Rights
Applicable privacy or consumer law may provide additional rights based on residence. Texas Government Code Chapter 552 governs public-information requests to Texas agencies, while Chapter 411 controls dissemination of Texas criminal history by authorized agencies. Those laws do not turn this private site into a government records custodian. Subject to applicable law, a visitor may:
- Request deletion of personal data where the law permits
- Ask what personal information we retain
- Seek correction of inaccurate retained information
- Opt out of eligible forms of processing
Updates to This Policy
This policy may be revised as practices or legal requirements change. A replacement version becomes available on this page with its new effective date.
